Imagine this! Becoming close friends with a boy that lives on the other side of a fence in a Nazi camp and only being able to talk to them through a fence never being able to run around together or just play a game of tag. Well that’s what happened to a little nine year old boy named Bruno that had to move very far away for his dads work. Bruno wondered beyond the fences when he met a little boy that seemed just like himself but yet his life and circumstances were extremely different then Bruno’s. This story is both a tragic and extremely depressing book and a movie called The Boy in the Striped Pajamas. The book and movie were both absolutely fantastic and were very much alike, but they still had some differences. The few differences†¦show more content†¦He enters the camp to help the little Jewish boy find his dad, but instead something horribly tragic happens. Bruno gets mistaken by the Nazis as a Jewish boy and is thrown in the gas chamber on accident. The ending of the book is super heartbreaking; however, the end of the movie isn’t as depressing but is still very sad. In the end of the movie Bruno sneaks under the fence to help the Jewish boy find his dead, but is later hung. This change in perspective means that there is a bigger focus on other characters, giving the film a strong family dynamic and allowing the audience to see more of how Bruno’s mother and sister are coping and adapting to the changes, rather than only Bruno’s blurred understanding of it. seeing how Bruno’s how Bruno’s mother slowly breaks down and becomes more and more emotional and how his sister is so quickly influenced by her Nazi teachings makes the story all the more shocking, which is a great advantage of the film. Whilst Bruno’s Mother is more likeable in the film, there is a fundamental reason as for why we don’t see so much of this emotional side to her character in the book. In the book, she appears to b e more aware of what’s actually going, which is the more realistic of likelihoods, whereas in the film she come across as quite misled by her husband. Negotiation occurs when two or more conflicting parties attempt to resolve their divergent goals by redefining the terms of their interdependence (Pruit and Carnevale 1993) Some researchers have suggested that in negotiations, collaborative style is the most effective, but the truth is that it may be too overbearing for the negotiations (Brett, 1984). The success for negotiation depends on the bargaining technique used by both the parties involved. There are basically two major types of strategies. The first one is the distributive bargaining. The most distinctive feature of distributive bargaining is that it operates under a zero-sum game, that is, the gain made by one person is the loss incurred by other person. Each person involved in the negotiation defines the ultimate point where the settlement will be made, Then there is a resistance point that marks the least settlement that is acceptable. The negotiator generally settles in the area between these resistance points, which tends to overlap. The second strategy is integrative bargaining. The characteristics feature of integrative bargaining is that it relies on a win-win and therefore, uses a collaborative model of conflict resolution. Both the parties involved in the negotiation process jointly look at the problem, try to search for alternatives and try to evaluate them and arrive at a mutually acceptable decision or solution. If the process is successful, it results in satisfaction and positive-long relationship. In this paper we have analyzed the case of United Parcel services. United Parcel Service is one of the messagengerial companies in USA. The company was founded the year the world’s largest global provider of package delivery. It has created its good name so far as logistic and the transportation services are concerned. So far as the workforce of the company is concerned, their work forces are young. It is because the company employs the part time activities. The young people generally prefer to join in the company as stop gap arrangement. The workforce of the company is also very large. The company part time workers constitute one of the major constituent of the total. There are around 2, 00,000 part workers in the company working all over the country day and night. They generally work for 27-28 hours in a week. These part time workers had number of problems. Their working condition was not satisfactory. In case of distributive bargaining strategy the negotiator tries to be both helpful and rude to the other party alternatively. In this case the negotiator may initially be abusive and threaten to walk out, and suddenly, later, takes, on an affectionate and helpful behavior, thus affecting the attitude of the other party until the other party decides to give in and lose. In case of integrative bargaining while negotiating, individual personalities with his or her egis should not take precedence over the objectives or the interest involved. The dynamics of interpersonal relationship between the people involved in the negotiation process should not take priority over the main issues. Negotiators should try to work on mutually acceptable solutions rather than trying to let each other down while negotiating. Foods in Brunei are simple yet traditional and growing up my whole life with it, I will surely miss the smell and the life of people especially during the month of Ramadhan where stalls are being opened at the Gadong Market and the Berakas Stadium; Kebabs, Roti Johns, Ketupat, Air Tebu(Sugar cane) and so forth. Lastly, the Bruneian social life revolves around weddings and Hari Raya and fasting in the month of Ramadhan. Weddings in Brunei, especially Muslim weddings, are comparatively different from the ones in the America or the United Kingdom. It’s a series of events that occurs for weeks and has different goals for different days. One example is â€Å"Hantar Berian† which is when the exchanging of gifts happens between the bride and the groom, followed by â€Å"Bersanding† where the bride and groom officially marries. I will surely miss, especially being involved in the ceremonies. Weddings is the time where people, known or not, bond together and help each other out such as preparing the food, welcoming the guests, giving gifts, helping to wrap the presents or cleaning the area. There is always excitement in the air and full of people getting to know each other and catching up with each other. Brunei is rich in this type of culture because in a wedding, the traditio nal bonds and the family ties and the closeness of the community are really obvious. The unity and generosity of the community towards each other never failed to make me proud to be a Bruneian. Living abroad compels you to accept new things such as culture, society, weather environment. In a new environment abroad, I would certainly miss everything that comes in mind with the word Brunei. Yet, it is something that I will have to deal with and accept.
